A girl is struggling to be noticed in middle school. Then she discovers she has "superpowers". Whenever she has strong emotional feelings, there is a physical component. Sometimes it may be that she shoots out fire when she is angry. Or she may turn green with envy.  She is struggling with this as she also tries to figure out what happened to her mom. She thinks she has a social break when she is accepted by the "cool kids". However, she ends up realizing that life was better when she wasn't noticed. After a final "incident" of her super powers, everybody forgets her - except for her friend that had been with her all along. This was an interesting take on middle school challenges. The reunion with "mom" was quite unexpected in how it played out.
