The book is fantasy. At least it is short. Disney's the Black Cauldron was sort of based on it.

The Unfinished Land

Unfinished Land is an "Elizabethan Fantasy". I was lost on both counts. Someone goes sailing. There is a shipwreck. Weird things happen. I had trouble staying engaged.
