In Search of Sir Thomas Browne: The Life and Afterlife of the Seventeenth Century's Most Inquiring Mind by Hugh Aldersey-Williams
This book uses the life of Thomas Browne as a jumping off point to compare and contrast today's culture with that of the 17th century. Both share many of the same concerns, but express them in different ways. Browne was an accomplished intellectual and a physicians. He preferred to use medical practices that would actually work. He also liked to justify science and religion. How would he react to conflicts with science and religion today?
