The triplets want to go on a picnic. Their mom offers to pay them for strawberries, so they go out to gather them as part of their picnic. However, they go too far and get lost. They stop at a cabin where the impoverished family happily helps them. After returning, they make jam with mom and try to decide what to do with the money. They decide that would like to spend the money on things for the family. They buy some gifts and bring things (including jam) to the family. They then play with the kids and enjoy their time with their new friends. the book has a nice message that flows well. It shows a very open friendly time of the past.

Flicka, Ricka, Dicka Go to Market
Flicka, Ricka, Dicka Go to Market by Maj Lindman
The triplets have moved out to the country. They want bicycles to get around. Their dad encourages them to grow some vegetables for the market. They go through the work of doing that and get some vegetables. Their neighbor offers to let them borrow the horse and cart to bring vegetables to the market and gives them some of his flowers to sell there. (He did look a bit creepy when he first appeared - however this is Sweden, not the US!) The first time, they don't tie up the horse, and he goes home on their own. They do a better job the next time. After the season, they have earned enough money to buy their bicycles.
