In this Ukrainian folk tale, a kid wants white gloves. However, these are hard to find in the snow. He loses the glove and a small animal finds it a cozy place to go. Increasingly bigger animals go in until a bear joins them. Then a small mouse causes the bear to sneeze and the glove flies back to the kid. The glove sure can stretch!
While a hedgehog is on his way to hibernate, he hears about all the great things that happen during the winter. He decides he will stay awake to see winter. Alas, he can't quite do it and falls asleep without making it to his nook. The girl sees him and brings him inside. There he is able to observe all the winter activities from the warmth of inside. After a few days of this, he eventually does fall asleep and the girl brings him too his nook. While they are outside, all the other animals decide they want to observe winter from the inside. The girl has to kick them out of the house. It has an embroidery style of illustration, with the drawings being better than the story.
