A 17-year-old girl had some weird things happen as a child. Then her parents (who were not her parents) absconded with a bunch of money and she has a story to tell. She comes across as much more mature than she is, managing to order wine in a restaurant just by ordering it. She signs a big literary deal with a somewhat corrupt agent. Though the teen turned out to be smarter than she seemed with some hoodwinking going on.
