Record of a Spaceborn Few: Wayfarers 3 by Becky Chambers
There is a science fiction "utopia" where everyone lives in a perfect communist society. All necessities are provided and they do work that they enjoy. Then some others come in and start messing things up. There are various aliens. Some don't need to breath, but have organs that allow them to talk. There is a disaster that changes around life. The book goes through various episodes of different characters. It felt too long. Parts were interesting but others got boring.
