A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
A girl from Washington, D.C. suddenly finds herself kidnapped. She tries to escape, but discovers it is actually a different world. Her kidnapper is a prince of a world who has been cursed. He must repeatedly relive his experience. He kidnaps a girl each season in hope that she can help redeem him from the curse. The girl fights his captor, but then gradually grows to love him. She is seen by the people as a "prince of D.C."
They hope to defeat the oncoming "bad guys". However, the girl gets permission to go back to see her dying mom. While she is there, the prince turns into a beast, and he does not show up when expected to get her. The prince's military leader does show up later when the girl is with her brother and his boyfriend (a doctor). When some thugs come to attack them, they are teleported back to the fantasy world. She helps befriend the prince/beast, and either her or the military leader help to remove the curse.
It is a fairly engaging YA contemporary fantasy book, though it is a bit too verbose. The "brother" arc seems incomplete. The "love" story is low-key enough to keep the book interesting.
