The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

An autistic boy sees a dog that was killed at night. He decides to go on a quest to find the killer. This leads him to discover more about his parents and neighbors. The book feels like a children's book, but has plenty of salty language and deals with parental affairs.  The adults feel fairly undeveloped in the book. The author claims he did not do any research on the boy and that he does not associate him with any condition. That is probably for the best, as he comes across as fairly caricatured. But since autism can differ from person to person, this may be appropriate.
