This is a short "adaptation" of the book Bambi. It is debatable whether or not it is a children's book. It is a strong "anti-hunting" book. It is primarily from the point of view of the deer. We learn of the hierarchy of the animals. However, even the highest ranking animals are no match for hunters. The hunters use many different methods for killing animals, including guns and traps. In the end, the view of the world is shown to be greater than both man and animal.
