A crew in the deep of space explores an anomaly on a planet. What is it? Is it an antenna? Is there a sign of life on the planet? This book explores a lot of the details of the interaction of the people. There are plenty of "demons" in each person and some come out as they go through their journey. Religion and encounters with potential alien life forms all help to bring out internal characters. The book can be difficult to follow and slow at times. I reached the end, and still wasn't exactly sure what the point was. Though perhaps the journey of exploration was the point.
