The Book Censor's Library: A Novel

The Book Censor's Library: A Novel by Bothayna Al-Essa (Author), Ranya Abdelrahman - translator. Sawad Hussain - translator

The book is a light story with echoes of Fahrenheit 451, 1984 and Alice and Wonderland. There are book censors, yet they may actually sneak reading books. There is book burning and re-education to the proper ways of doing things. The characters and their family get stuck on both sides of the fence. Zorba the Greek ends up being one of the important "banned" books that attracts the supposed censor. The tone works brilliantly, which makes up for the confusing plot.
