The One and Only Bob

The One and Only Bob is told from the perspective of the dog, Bob. He was a stray before being adopted by the family. the book takes place during the onset of a hurricane. We hear all the internal thoughts of the dog and his interactions with other animals. He likes the pampered life, but resists being trained.

Bob's family lives near the zoo and he is excited to take trips there. While they are there, the weather turns ominous and a tornado strikes. Everything goes flying through the air. Other animals mention that they did not know that dogs can fly. Bob starts to turn into the hero as he helps assist some other animals (including a puppy that he realizes is his cousin.) There are also some interesting interactions with the wolf and hints at a doggie romance.
