Lionel Asbo: State of England

Desmond is being raised by his gangster jerk uncle Lionel Asbo. Desmond is "taught" by his uncle a lot of the scummy underclass norms, though he is trying to escape this society. Alas, while in prison Asbo wins the lottery and becomes a minor celebrity. 

I didn't feel attached to the characters and didn't really care what they were doing. The humor tended to be crass, with a lot sailing right over my head.
